Dental bonding has a variety of uses when it comes to repairing problem areas in your smile. This composite resin is a dental-grade plastic ideal for solving some of your smile issues. The perks of dental bonding include its versatility and ease of use. It isn’t highly invasive either. Let’s take a look at some of its applications:

1- After an oral injury or accident, damage to a tooth such as chips or cracks can be restored by a dental bonding treatment.

2- If you have unappealing discolorations that too tough for professional tooth whitening treatments to overcome, dental bonding can do the trick.

Unconsciously grind your teeth while sleeping is often related to issues with unresolved chronic stress. If it occurs on a nightly basis the excessive pressure and forces caused by this condition, known as bruxism, can potentially chip or fracture one of your teeth.

If you wake up in the morning with a chipped or fractured tooth it’s best to have examined and treated by a dentist like Dr. Chad S. Burt, before further complications arise. If the damage to the tooth’s enamel layer is minor they might be able to treat it by installing a dental filling.

To do this they will likely recommend injecting procaine into the local gum tissues to help numb the tooth to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment process. Once this is done they will carefully remove a small amount of additional tooth enamel to create perfectly clean surface capable of securing the dental filling.

The type of material that they uses for the dental filling might vary depending on the size, severity and location of the chipped tooth enamel. A composite dental filling can mimic the appearance of natural tooth enamel, which makes it a good choice for a dental filling that will appear when you smile.

If you are in the Midvale, Utah, area, and you have a chipped or fractured tooth, you should call 801-255-3578 to have it examined and treated at K B Dentistry.

Chipping a tooth can be a scary and nerve-wracking experience. However, even though it’s terrifying, it’s best to stay calm. There is no need to worry. Our K B Dentistry dental team can treat your tooth in no time. So, to begin dealing with the situation, there are a few things you should do.

First, call our office and schedule an emergency appointment with either Dr. Chad S. Burt or Dr. Kyle W. Dimond. The sooner you can get into our clinic, the better. When you come into our office, make sure to bring the pieces of your tooth with you. This means when you break your tooth, you need to save as many pieces as you can and keep them in a safe place.

Second, control the bleeding and reduce the swelling. First, control the bleeding by placing a piece of gauze pad to the area until the bleeding stops. If the bleeding fails to subside, replace the bloody pad with a new one and repeat this process until you come into our office. Second, reduce the swelling by icing outside the area for 15 minutes at a time. This should reduce the swelling as well as relieve your pain.

If you have any questions about how to deal with a chipped tooth in Midvale, Utah, or if you need help with the provided tips, please don’t be afraid to call our office at 801-255-3578 at your earliest convenience.
